Mathijs got into the crypto space in 2016 and joined Maven 11 in 2017 as an analyst. He has a background in economics. Since joining Maven 11 he has led funding rounds into Bloxroute, Anoma, Nym, Celestia, Sovereign Labs and Astria amongst others.

He holds a MSc in Science & Business Management, and has a background in fundamental bioinformatics research and data science. He has done research into a variety of blockchain technologies and is specifically focused on Rollups, Zero-Knowledge and MEV. He joined Maven 11 in early 2022, and is currently responsible for technical infrastructure research and public facing theses.
